Our Community Cares Camp
Our Community Cares Camp (OCCC) is a non-profit organization based in Richmond, Vermont. For four weeks every summer OCCC welcomes between 60-120 campers from all over the Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District to its free summer program. OCCC includes children and youth in the community who do not otherwise have access to the summer camp experience. The mission at OCCC is to create a caring, nourishing community for Chittenden East children where every child can find success. OCCC provides a safe, nurturing, and community-oriented summer camp environment, and combats food insecurity during summer vacation by providing all campers (and others in need) with two nutritious meals, breakfast and lunch, every day of camp.
Global Campuses Foundation
GCF is the only organization in Vermont providing a network of educational campuses fostering advanced learning opportunities for over 200 adults who experience disability. Participants are the creators and producers of their educational experiences taking on leadership opportunities as teaching faculty, student scholars, and administrative staff. GCF helps people discover and grow their passions, develop new social networks, advance their careers, and achieve new levels of independence.
John Graham Shelter
JGHS is Addison County’s sole year-round homeless service organization. JGHS is committed to being a safe haven for all homeless people, all day, every day. They provide food, shelter and housing; services and support – including medical case management – to help transform lives; and prevention, intervention and counseling for people in crisis. JGHS operates a 25-bed shelter in Vergennes and four apartment houses that provide rapid rehousing and permanently supported housing to individuals and families. Their trained service coordinators are available 365 days a year to help people overcome barriers and attain permanent housing, employment, and positive health outcomes. Their licensed clinician and medical case manager provide prevention, counseling and intervention for people in crisis and struggling with health, mental health and addictions-related trauma.
